1670-01-603-0439 A small parachute canopy attached to a larger canopy to actuate and accelerate the opening of the load bearing canopy. When used in conjunction with personnel parachutes, it is usually equipped with a spring opening device. When it is mounted on a tandem parachute, it retards and stabilizes, before the opening of the load bearing canopy.
