It is used for such applications as digestions, synthesis, vacuum distillation and the like. It consists of a motor driven magnet which rotates under a hot plate mounted over a housing which contains the drive mechanism and controls. The motor driven magnet exerts a torque on a magnetic stirring capsule placed in the liquid to be stirred.
